Up On The Mountain
Up On The Mountain
Lewis' most extensive exploration of the sound of bowed strings against flat or finger -picked guitar; the addition of the cello adds a string quartet feel in this classical – folk journey.
Up on the Mountain is a classical -folk journey with guitar, violin and cello. Producer and sound-sculptor John Huling (Spiritlands, Ancestral Waters) ushers in the advent of a new sound with a spatial texture and mood unequaled on any of his previous releases. The addition of classical cellist Nathanial Parke helps to create that depth both in spirit and tone as he resplendently performs on an instrument built in 1721 by C.G. Testore. The intimacy created by the finger picked themes works in fine contrast with the flat-picked lead guitar tracks while the violins work their magic throughout.
