7 Starry Night Concert Series @ Seven Stars Arts Center
Press Release:
Spencer Lewis and The Folk Rock Project play at The Seven Stars in Sharon this Friday at 7:00pm.
Spencer Lewis brings his Folk Rock Project to Sharon for the second show in the 7 Starry Nights Concert Series. The series is to benefit The Vermont Independent School of the Arts in their efforts to raise funds for a challenge match from the Byrne Foundation.
Listening to the Folk Rock Project you will be moved by an eclectic song selection of both classic and overlooked covers. It’s just their luck that the songs written by Bob Dylan, The Bodeans, Lou Reed, JJ Cale, John Stewart, and Willie Nile have stood the test of time.
In this incarnation the FRP is: Spencer Lewis on acoustic/electric guitars, lead vocals and violin/fiddle; Jeremy Kendall on drums, Scott Paulson on electric bass and harmony vocals, and Jeremiah Ekis on electric guitar. Lewis layers guitar loops and violin overdubs that move the band in even more unpredictable directions.
The merging of folk and rock may well be the cornerstone of much music played today transcending genres from country and bluegrass to rock, indie-rock, Americana, and contemporary singer-songwriters. Add Lewis’ old time fiddling to the mix as well as his own catalog of prolific song writing that feature both instrumentals and songs that reflect the inner changes of the soul and uplift and celebrate the human spirit.
